BSP selects a small number of high school students to spend a summer performing supervised research and role-modeling in a professional laboratory at Harvard Medical School. Fellows become a part of their lab and experience first hand the excitement of a career in science.
BSP supports hands-on science summer camps through the graduate student group HMS KIDS and the B-SAFE after-school. HMS KIDS organize activities at B-SAFE focuses on offering underprivileged students the opportunity to interactive and discovery-based curriculum in a range of scientific disciplines.
BSP also supports a summer science camp called Science Savvy with medical students involved in HMS FUNC to introduce young students to the basics of biology, genetics, physics and geology.
Finally, BSP sponsors student participation in the HMS MEDcience to deliver basic science concepts via a case-based approach to applied medicine.
